About Nickselbeauty
In 2020, right after the first lockdown in March, we decided to work on launching one of the first makeup companies in Palestine.
Our Story
Nicksel Beauty is an emerging cosmetics company founded in Palestine by two bestfriends, Nick Abu Qubei and Selena Emaya, in 2021. It all started as an idea back in March 2020 when everyone was forced to quarantine for months. During that time we worked non-stop on this project to flourish as one of the first Palestinian makeup companies that ships internationally; and we were finally able to launch our first product, 3D mink lashes in March 2021.
We both live in Beit-Jala, Palestine; a city known for its oldest Christian community in the world as well as its olive trees and delicious olive oil. Beit-Jala is part of Bethlehem province and is a 7 minute drive away (2.8 km/ 1.7 miles) from the nativity church where Jesus was born.
Nick is a well-known makeup artist in our city who has been creating amazing content for the past two years while Selena is a human rights and international law undergrad who has a minor in Media Studies and TV. We are both ambitious individuals who want our voices to finally be heard through the art of makeup. For more than 70 years, Palestinian voices have been progressively censored, heritage and culture erased, food and lands stolen. We want to show the world that Palestinians are resilient people who have one of the most beautiful cultures in the world and are very ambitious.
We want to share our culture with you and create a family from all over the world, people who share our vision of a peaceful, cruel free and eco-friendly planet.
Nicksel Beauty is for anyone who has been silenced and scared to say their mind. It’s for anyone who is ambitious and follows their dream. It’s for anyone willing to break the norm and break free. Our first lashes collection is called Nicksel Lashes and they come in 5 different styles. In our first spring collection we decided to go with calming and innocent colors, and what’s more pure than pastel colors. Each color represents a hopeful part of our lives that we wanted to share with you. Our lashes are carefully designed and selected to match our premium high quality specifications to every eye type. Our Nicksel Lashes are certified cruelty free and undergone QC inspection three times.
